Welcome to Badian, Philippines
The Municipality of Badian is located 97.6 km southwest of Cebu City in the Central Visayas (Region VII). Badian is now in the early development stage for nice tourist accommodations and resorts. There are some fantastic beachfront and sea-view locations available. Badian is generally a mountainous and hilly area, where locals and tourists go around in jeepneys and bicycles.
Things to See
Kawasan Falls, a three-layered waterfall, is one of the popular tourist destinations in the province. Kawasan Nature Park marks the entrance of Kabokalan Spring and Kawasan Falls. Hike your way towards the 3 level waterfalls. Rent a bamboo raft for a close encounter with the falls.
2) Lambug Beach
Lambug Beach boasts enchanting vast white sand that will captivate the heart of every traveller. There is also the mangroves area just behind the shores of Barangay Poblacion where you can also enjoy an overlooking view of the nearby Badian Island.
It takes about an hour or so to walk all the way around the Badian Island. Are you a fan of scuba diving or snorkelling? Badian Dive Center located at the beachfront of Badian Island Resort and Spa offers 14 dive spots including the famous and one of the primary dive spot in the Philippines, The Pescador Island.

Things to Do
Canyoneering in Badian is Cebu’s most adrenaline-pumping adventure. You will go through the Matutinao river which flows through a secluded canyon and ends at Kawasan Falls. This activity can get you really exhausted. Canyoneering is an outdoor activity that involves travelling down creeks or streams within a canyon through a variety of means including hiking, jumping, abseiling, swimming, and climbing.
Coral Garden is the primary snorkelling site perfect for travellers. Want to try night diving? Feel free to ask for Badian Wall and Fisherman’s Cave Dive Spots. Both have strong currents but, fishes, barracudas, turtles, etc can still be seen around. Explore Garden Eels and witness eels nudging their heads out from the sand. Sawang Dive Spot is the safest diving site for training for beginners in large groups.
Approximately 1,000 meters above sea level, Osmeña Peak is coined as the highest peak in the whole Cebu. It belongs to the Mantalongon mountain range, and because the peak has a favourable climate all year round, it has been a good source of vegetable crops for all Cebuanos for the past years, making Mantalongon earn the title “vegetable basket of Cebu”.
There are no International ATM machines in the town. The nearest International ATM is in Moalboal (inside of the 360 pharmacies) which is only about 15 minutes away in a taxi. It is better if you stock up enough cash before leaving Cebu City. Some resorts offer money change but the exchange rate may differ. Small resorts prefer receiving payment in cash (peso).
The Town Hospital is located in Poblacion. If you need further medical assistance, the hospital has facilities like an ambulance to transfer you to good hospitals in the city like Cebu. 3) How To Get There
From Cebu Airport you can take a white taxi to South Bus Terminal located at Cebu City. Then take the yellow Ceres Bus Liner going to Bato via Barili. The buses leaving Cebu City to Badian are at every 30 to 45 minutes intervals. It will take around 3 to 5 hours to reach Badian from Cebu City depending on the number of stops and the traffic conditions. The bus fare is about Php 125.00 – Php 135.00.
The faster and the most comfortable way is by Taxi. The fare is about Php 1500.00 – Php 3000.00 and you have to be prepared for some bartering and hidden costs. It will take around 2 to 3 hours from the Cebu Airport to Badian depending on traffic and acceleration.
